“ This song is dedicated to my brother who is responsible for me putting a mic in my hand. He discovered my gift as a young child and was always encouraging me to keep going with my gift. Rory loves music. So when we grew up, through my gift, I was able to offer him encouragement when he was in a bad place. He was struggling with ptsd from combat. “Run“ and “Wings” were written to get him back on track spiritually. This performance was witnessed by some of VA staff. Wings” became the soldiers anthem as it was about God’s covering and protection. It was requested for the veterans parade along with the SSB for the flyover. My producer and I decided to make it a tribute with a gospel-like sound.
